This last Wednesday of the month means that we are getting awfully close to February – a month often synonymous with Francophone music here at GDW. But I must confess to being incredibly eager to share this clip released just a few weeks ago from emerging QC artist Katrine Sansregret – February is still too far away to keep this gem in a holding pattern for much longer.
Katrine has enjoyed undeniable popularity since her memorable participation in the finals of QC television show ‘Star Académie 2025.’ “A true musical phenomenon since her debut, she has captivated both audiences and the industry with the sincerity of her performances and the emotional depth of her lyrics. Her artistic world, where vulnerability and intensity coexist, is supported by a remarkably controlled voice, capable of rich and deeply embodied nuances” (Artist Website).
With a debut album in the works for 2026, expect to be hearing plenty more about this incredibly talented artist soon. And yes – Francophone February video features are a lock for every Wednesday here at GDW for the coming weeks ahead…

The British guy that crossed the ocean and crash landed in central Pennsylvania (to quote Greg Keelor, “And I wonder what am I doing here?”). As the youngest of four siblings, exposure to music from a very early age nurtured my passion and appreciation for many musical genres. Continuing to discover some amazingly diverse and talented musicians based in Canada, I gravitate to live music experiences and remain devoted to spreading the word about such a vibrant music scene.
