The Wolfe, “Pig & the Hound”
Saskatchewan-based The Wolfe has just released a brand new single, ”Pig & The Hound.” Their second single this year, the song is darker, edgier, and shows off the trio’s rock ‘n roll side. Also available is a video produced by Prehistoric Productions. The group’s new EP will be released in April, with an extensive tour to follow.
Canada’s Top 4 Finalist for CBC Searchlight 2017, The Wolfe is an alternative-rock trio from Prince Albert. Recipient of the Toronto Independent Music Award for Best Out Of Province Artist, and their hometown Best of the Best Awards for Best Band and Best Local Musician Made Good, The Wolfe was also a nominee for the Canadian Folk Music Award: Young Performer of The Year.

The Cedar Sisters, “Long Road”
London, ON-based duo The Cedar Sisters have released their latest song, “Long Road.” The Cedar Sisters – Jane Carmichael and Elle Hermansen – met when both were brought in as backup singers for a local rock band. The two songwriters felt an instant personal and musical connection, and soon after began writing together.
The pair released their first single, “Wait”, in May of 2017. It’s a dark and moving track about a dying relationship. Like all of their songs, it’s also a deeply honest expression of personal experience. They are currently writing and recording more new songs with the goal of releasing their debut EP later this year.

Elk Run & Riot, “Wandering”
Alberta’s Elk Run & Riot have released a new video for the song “Wandering” from their brand new third album. Animalia. “Wandering” fully displays how the group has refined their songwriting with AOR-ready arrangements, ringing guitars, soaring harmonies and heartfelt melodies. Animalia was officially released March 2 on vinyl and digital through elkrunriot.com. and the band’s current tour of western Canada continues into April.
Christina Martin, “Always Reminding”
Multi-award winning Canadian singer-songwriter Christina Martin is pleased to announce the March 23rd release of her latest album “Impossible To Hold” via Come Undone Records (Martin’s label). In advance of that release, Christina has created an 80s-themed video for the single “Always Reminding.”
The follow-up to “It’ll Be Alright,” which earned Martin the 2016 East Coast Music Award for Pop Recording of the Year, “Impossible To Hold” showcases her Americana/pop-rock sensibilities as well as her trademark storytelling abilities, all coming together in free-flowing sonic exploration. Of the album, Martin says, “There was little concern for following any style or trend in writing and recording these new songs. My commitment was to honour the direction the songs were leading me in. There were dark moments in the process, but I showed up each day to work, and hoped it would all come together.”

Jesuslesfilles, “Trop demander”
Four years after their critically-acclaimed “Le grain d’or,” Jesuslesfilles is back on track today and shares “Trop demander,” first single off their upcoming album. Titled “Daniel,” this new release will be out on May 4th via Blow The Fuse Records and will be available online, compact disc and on vinyl.
Short (1min57), punchy and rhythmic, the track sets the tone for the nine other songs of the album. Trop demander is a garage transition with prodigal aplomb. It’s about emancipation, abandonment, and the need to be well equipped, the band explains.

Major Love, “So Good”
Major Love is the moniker of Canadian songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Colleen Brown and members of Scenic Route To Alaska, Jesse And The Dandelions, Elijah Abrams, and Aaron Goldstein. The resulting combination is a sound that thrives at the intersection between Brown’s resonant vocal expression and Scenic Route To Alaska’s swagger. From Edmonton, Alberta by way of Kingston, Ontario, they make soulful pop-rock music for their hoser friends.
The band has signed with Latent Recordings to release a new self-titled EP this week, March 9, and will release a full length album later this year. “So Good” was written at a hostel in London while Brown was on tour in the UK. “I hope it doesn’t spoil the magic too much to simply say that I’d gone for a walk one morning, and lay down on the grass in a beautiful neighbourhood park in the early summer sun, basically counting my blessings to be touring overseas for the first time, playing music,” she says. “The whole thing was written in about 10 mins, in the hostel shower stall – it’s hard to find privacy in those places!”
