Singer/songwriter Emily Millard has released a new video, “Toxic Town,” from her most recent album, “By Heron & By Season” (which we reviewed last fall). For the video, Millard collaborated with director Greg Compton and several artists to provide a truly unique and compelling visual presentation of Millard’s gorgeous song. British Columbia visual artist Leya Tess created a 30-foot scroll drawing, while Vancouver dancer/choreographer Sarah Gallos performs throughout the video.
Emily is currently on tour in Germany where By Heron & By Season has been released on Greywood Records. German arts magazine Kulturnews recently praised Millard’s live show, saying, “The Canadian singer/songwriter creates delicate folk sketches from intimate acoustic guitars and randomly found instruments.”
She is slated to play this year’s Deep Roots Festival in Wolfeville, NS, with more summer festival dates to be announced soon.
