Now that we’re thoroughly into 2018, it’s time to look forward instead of backward. We already know of a number of great albums coming in the next few months… here are a few that we’re especially eager to hear.
26 January – Jim Cuddy Band, Constellation
After a hefty wait, a new album is coming from The Jim Cuddy Band. Just from the few tracks that have found their way online, we can tell this will be good ‘un.

2 February – Robi Botos, Old Soul
Jazz pianist Robi Botos returns with a new album this February. Several other terrific musicians appear on the project, including longtime collaborators Mike Downes on bass and Larnell Lewis on drums, as well as Seamus Blake on saxophone. Also joining them for the first time is Cory Henry on the Hammond B3, Ingrid Jensen on trumpet, and Lionel Loueke on guitar.
9 February – Good Lovelies, Shapeshifters
A new project from the Good Lovelies is always a watershed moment, and this one should be especially so, with a marked change in direction and sound, and superb production from Daniel Ledwell – this is definitely one to highlight on your calendar.
23 February – Joshua Hyslop, Echos
It seems like forever since Joshua Hyslop last released an album. But at long last, the light at the end of the tunnel is in sight, with Echos dropping in February. And you still have time to support the album’s prerelease campaign – and support this terrific musician’s work.

March – John Wort Hannam, Acres of Elbow Room
Roots musician John Wort Hannam will release his first new album in nearly three years this March and it should be a doozy, if the updates from the funding campaign are any indication.

April – Dennis Ellsworth, Things Change
Following up on his terrific collaboration with Kinley Dowling in 2017, Dennis Ellsworth will release a new solo album this spring. Produced by Joel Plaskett, this promises to be an awesome project.

May/June, Jory Nash, title TBA
