Kakagi: Exclusive Single Premiere, “Fait Accompli”

Kakagi

Canadian folk rock band Kakagi is releasing the first single off of their forthcoming second EP, “Stay Up Late.” The song, “Fait Accompli,” was initially supposed to be a break up song. “I wanted to write a break up song without having to break up with anyone,” jokes guitarist Jacob Brodovsky. “Conveniently, I was laid off from a job I had loved for a really long time, so I was able to write a break up song about my job.” The song evokes chorus soaked guitars, and a driving back beat, reminiscent of Ryan Adams or Tom Petty.

Kakagi is also excited to announce the first leg of its summer 2018 tour. This tour mark’s the band’s first venture into Ontario after touring Western Canada several times in 2017. This tour also marks the first time brothers Max (Drums/Vocals) and Jacob Brodovsky (Guitar/Vocals) are returning to Ontario since moving back to Winnipeg in 2015 to form the band. “I moved to Toronto when I was 18 because I had convinced myself that to play in a band, I would have to move to a bigger city,” says songwriter and lead vocalist, Jacob Brodovsky. “It’s ironic that only after moving home to Winnipeg am I returning to Ontario in a touring band, we’re very excited to play some of my favourite bars in Toronto.”
